Minister Senzo Mchunu has been placed on special leave.

President Cyril Ramaphosa made the announcement in a special address to the nation on Sunday night, following explosive claims from KZN's police chief.
Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi had alleged that Mchunu was involved in attempts to obstruct justice by disbanding the province's Political Killings Task Team, after they uncovered a syndicate.
Among the damning claims were allegations of collusion with businesspeople, including attempted murder suspect, Vusimuzi Matlala.
Mchunu has denied the allegations.
Ramphosa has named an acting minister while an investigation is carried out.

"I have decided to appoint Professor Firoz Cachalia as acting Minister of Police. Cachalia is currently a professor of law at the University of the Witwatersrand and is the chairperson of the National Anti-Corruption Advisory Council."
Ramaphosa said Cachalia, who previously served as an MEC of Community Safety in Gauteng, will be retiring from his current position at the university at the end of July.
"I will appoint an acting minister from within cabinet until Professor Cachalia takes up his post at the beginning of August."
Mchunu said he welcomes and respects the president’s decision and has pledged his commitment to the commission of inquiry.
