Ramaphosa hands over thousands of hectares of land to KZN community

President Cyril Ramaphosa has handed over 4000 hectares of land to the KwaMkhwanazi community in Empangeni.

"We are celebrating the return of the land to our people in this area. This is history in the making," Ramaphosa said.
Community members lodged a claim for the return of their ancestral land which was granted under government's land reform and restitution process. Ramaphosa says they won't be the only ones.
"We are going to be returning land in a massive way," he said.
Ramaphosa says they want to speed up the process.
"As government, we will admit that over a number of years we have been rather slow. We admit that what we are doing today, should have been done a number of years ago. As they say, it's better late than never."
