Ramaphosa: Corruption-accused ANC officials to step aside
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
All African National Congress (ANC) members in leadership positions in government or in the party who are implicated in corruption will have to step aside immediately - pending the finalisation of their cases.
This has been decided at the meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC).
Party president, Cyril Ramaphosa delivered the outcomes of the three-day discussions.
"The officials as mandated will develop guidelines and procedures on implementation and the next NWC meeting we will receive a progress report in this regard in cases where this has not happened such individuals will be instructed to step aside."

The NEC has also endorsed the letter that Ramaphosa penned to members earlier this month - in which he lamented corruption and urged the party to take responsibility.
