RAF CEO placed on special leave

Road Accident Fund CEO Collins Letsoalo has been placed on special leave amid corruption allegations.
This was announced on Wednesday morning in the Parliament.
Deputy Minister of Transport Mkhuleko Hlengwa says he was informed by the RAF board last night.
He says the board held a council meeting and agreed to suspend Letsoalo with full-paying benefits.

The CEO has been implicated in allegations of financial mismanagement and corruption.
" This decision is made in accordance with the board's responsibility to manage and control the fund as provided for in Section 10 of the Road Accident Fund Act, and the accounting authority decision is taken solely in the interest of good governance and is a precautionary state to facilitate ongoing investigative processes," says Hlengwa.
