Psychiatric report on murder accused Megan Prins complete

The Durban High Court has heard a report on the state of mind of a Durban mother who is accused of killing her young son, has been completed.
Megan Prins is alleged to have drugged seven-year-old Sloane, before smothering him with a pillow at a guesthouse in Umhlanga two years go.

The 35-year-old appeared in court on Monday.
Her attorney, Bert Laing told the court that they have received a report from a psychiatrist who conducted an evaluation of Prins' mental health at the time of the murder.
The report will indicate whether Prins could not appreciate the wrongfullness of the actions.
Laing told the court, that the only thing outstanding at this stage is payment to the psychiatrist which Prins' is responsible for.
Previous evaluation on Prins found that she was fit to stand trial in the matter.
Senior State Prosecutor, Denardo Macdonald told the court that the state intends calling up three psychiatrists for trial, he added that he had not seen the report as yet.
Judge Ester Steyn adjourned the matter to the beginning of November for the report to be handed over and for a provisional trial date.
