Protests erupt in Umzinto on KZN south coast

There is a heavy police presence in the Umzinto area on the south coast after this morning's unrest.
Police say a group of around 300 people took to the streets, blocking the R612 with burning tyres, rocks and branches in the vicinity of Mbetheni.

It is understood the protestors are demanding better services.
The police's Thulani Zwane says no damages have been reported.
He says no arrests have been made.
"They had been complaining of service delivery in the area, but no damages or injuries have been reported. Police are still monitoring the situation," confirmed Zwane.
