Protestors block Jozini roads as water woes continue

They have been demonstrating on the road from Nkonkoni to the town this week.

Their water supply problems began three years ago.The Jozini Local Municipality says tankers have been delivering water to residents but admits they have not been reliable.
The crisis has left locals frustrated, sending them on a disruptive protest.

Salesman, Avinash Jiwuth is in the area on business.He told Newswatch he has been stuck at a B&B in Kosi Bay on the north coast after trying to get home.
"We were caught in the strike action on Tuesday morning. We got caught in between the two protest sites. They were burning tyres and at the first site they were cutting trees with chainsaws right in front of us," said Jiwuth.

He says they then tried to get back to town but became trapped."Behind us they were burning tyres. For a 10km stretch we were basically trapped."
The municipality says the road was cleared earlier today after protesters dispersed.
