The People's Economic Forum took to the streets, saying it wants to stage a peaceful march - highlighting the fact that the wealth of the country is still in the hands of a few.

The group wants government to prioritise the equal distribution of wealth among all citizens.

The group's Desmond D'Sa says they want to march on the International Convention Centre in Durban to raise concern about the fact that businesses gathered there are making decisions that will not benefit the majority of people.

D'Sa says they also want to highlight the fact that job creation has not been a huge priority.

Meanwhile delegates attending the three day forum say the African continent has wealth that could significantly contribute to the development of the global economy.

Some have expressed excitement at the possibilities that talks present.
