Probe ongoing into racist social media post - KZN police
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KZN police say their investigations into a social media post allegedly making threats of violence against Indian communities in the province are still ongoing.
This despite there being some uncertainty over the authenticity of the account. Officers say this will also form part of their probe. At least two cases have been opened.
The post has also been submitted to the SA Human Rights Commission. The post sparked outrage on social media last week with the author saying Indians are not welcome in KZN.
It went further to say they should return to India or face being killed.
"A case of crimen injuria was open for investigation at Malvern police station after threats were made on social media. Investigations are continuing," SAPS spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala said.
