Pregnant woman critical after four-storey fall in PMB

It is believed the woman lost her footing causing her to tumble down at the construction site crashing into scaffolding. 

ER24's Russel Meiring says the woman fell while working on scaffolding.

''ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found the patient lying amongst the nearby scaffolding.

''Paramedics assessed the patient and found that she had sustained a serious injury to her head as well as her back. Treatment as well as advanced life support interventions were performed on the patient,'' he said.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of her fall.

Yesterday another heavily pregnant woman was pinned from her waist down beneath a truck in Pietermaritzburg.
