Power cut causes loss for Hilton business owners

Some BNB owners in the Hilton area - outside Pietermaritzburg - have been speaking to Newswatch about the town’s electricity crisis.
"It has cost an absolute fortune. It's not viable economically, for a business. Three days is an absolute killer," she said.
The lights were turned on again yesterday after residents and businesses spent several days in the dark.
Other areas had experienced outages for up to two weeks.

The blackouts follow strike action in the Msunduzi Municipality’s Electricity Department.
Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs wants authorities to investigate what it's calling deliberate acts of sabotage.
These BNB owners say they were forced to send their guests to other establishments.
