Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Police are on the hunt for two people who robbed two Pietermartizburg teachers at gunpoint today.
It is understood the robbers forced their way into a school in Imbali this morning.
Police say they demanded cash from the women, before assaulting them. They then fled.
Netcare911's Shawn Herbst says the teachers were later attended to by paramedics.
"A 58-year-old was pistol-whipped and assaulted and a 39-year-old was emotionally traumatised by the event," he said.
Herbst says both teachers were taken to hospital.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the attack to help with their investigations.
