Police promise more raids in Durban CBD
Updated | By Portia Cele
Durban police say their raids of illegally occupied residential buildings in the city, and surroundings will continue.
Recently 115 people, including police officer, were charged and fined for trespassing after occupiers were evicted from a CBD building meant to accommodate police officers.
The building was found in a dilapidated state and without proper sanitation. The police's Jay Naicker says two cases of corruption are being investigated.
"During the operation 2 people came forward and informed police that they were paying individuals to live in the accommodation meant for police officers", he said.
"Two cases of corruption were then opened and are currently under investigation", Naicker said.
