Police probing Baggies beach drowning

KwaZulu-Natal Police are investigating the circumstances that lead to a drowning incident at an Amanzimtoti beach - south of Durban.
A 16-year-old boy drowned while fishing with a group of friends yesterday afternoon.
SAPS spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says reports from the scene are that the boy got into difficulty while trying to cross the Little Amanzimtoti river at Baggies beach lagoon.
Mbele says divers found the teen's body trapped beneath a log at a depth of about three-metres.

"Police divers from Durban Search and Rescue along with Metro Police divers were called out to a drowning at Baggies Beach.
Mbele says two of teenagers tried to swim across the lagoon.
"An inquest docket was opened at Amanzimtoti for further investigation," Mbele said.
