Public Interest SA calls for probe into all senior IDAC officials, not just Johnson
Public Interest SA says confidence in the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption will only be restored if officials implicated in alleged misconduct are held accountable.
Non-profit organisation, Public Interest SA is calling for an independent probe into all senior IDAC officials, arguing that accountability must extend beyond Andrea Johnson.
The former IDAC head has been testifying at the Madlanga Commission about the unit's investigations.
She has made a series of concessions including IDAC's probe into crime intelligence boss, Dumisani Khumalo and the lumping of the suspended National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola's charges with Cat Matlala's corruption case.
Confidence in justice system under spotlight
Johnson resigned at the start of the week after spending several days in the stand.
The National Prosecuting Authority earlier this week provisionally withdrew the charges against Khumalo and his co-accused.

Public Interest SA founder Tebogo Khaas says public confidence will only be restored if action is taken against those implicated in wrongdoing.
"Public Interest SA is calling for a comprehensive and independent investigation into the conduct of all senior IDAC officials who may have played a role in enabling, overlooking or failing to address alleged misconduct within the institution.
"Where evidence demonstrates misconduct or dereliction of duty, we expect appropriate disciplinary action and where warranted, criminal investigations."
Khaas says parliament and the relevant oversight authorities should review IDAC's governance framework.
