Panayiotou back in court in December
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Port Elizabeth murder accused Christopher Panayiotou and alleged hitman Sizwesakhe Vumazonke made a brief appearance in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's this morning.
The matter has been postponed to December, possibly for the setting of a High Court date for the matter to go to trial.
Panayiotou's defence counsel is not happy with the postponement, claiming to not have yet received the police docket.
The businessman is accused of orchestrating the abduction and murder of his school teacher wife, Jayde in April while Vumazonke is accused of being the triggerman.
The NPA's Tshepo Ndwalaza says they want to ensure the matter is dealt with accordingly.
''We want to investigate all the possibilities and make sure that when we go to court we are ready to deal with the matters.
''As we've said before, we have done everything in our power to ensure that this matter is dealt with accordingly and we are prepared for them anytime,'' he said.
Last month, the State withdrew charges against the alleged middleman, 31-year-old Thando Siyoni who has now been confirmed as a Section 204 state witness.
