Organisers set for Amashova in Durban
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Organisers of the Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic say it's all systems go ahead of this weekend's race.
Thousands of cyclists will hit the roads between Pietermaritzburg and Durban on Sunday.
The main event will see participants tackling the gruelling 106km route between the Pietermaritzburg City Hall and Suncoast Casino on the Durban beachfront.
Other races include the 35 and 65km options.
Just over 10 000 cyclists took part in last year's event.
Amashova's Malcolm Lange says excellent riding conditions are expected.
"The weather last year was terrible - there was a lot of wind and a lot of cancellations on the day. We lost a lot of numbers. I think this year, things are looking up - I know the weather is going to be a lot better.
"But let's just hope that we will have a great day on Sunday - people come out and enjoy one of the classic road races on the calendar," he said.
