One killed, five injured in Durban N3 crash
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
One person has been killed in an accident on the N3 near the Pavilion in Durban.
It's understood six people had been in a bakkie when it apparently hit a barrier resulting in the vehicle rolling several times.
ER24's Pieter Rossouw says the other five were hurt.
"ER24 treated and transported three patients to King Edward hospital for further treatment. Other patients were treated and transported by other medical services on scene.
"The cause of the incident still remains unknown but local authorities were on the scene for further investigation," he said.
Meanwhile, three people have been taken to a hospital in Hillcrest following a crash involving a truck in Pinetown this morning.
According to witnesses, the truck had been coming down a steep hill when it veered off the roadway and collided into a building along Hillclimb Road in Westmead.
Emergency services personnel arrived on the scene to find that a concrete pillar had crushed the roof of the truck.
Netcare 911 says the injured were treated on the scene for moderate injuries before being taken to hospital.
