NFP takes action against internal issues
Updated | By Zongile Mthimkhulu
National Freedom Party leaders say the party needs to deal with its problems decisively so it can focus on preparing for next year's local government elections.
It comes after letters of expulsion were recently sent to some local councillors in KwaZulu-Natal.
Earlier this year, some senior party members were suspended.
The infighting came to the fore after party leader Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi took ill late last year.
The NFP's Sabelo Dlamini says they are doing every thing they can to tackle these problems.
"We are very much shocked as well. We can see that here amongst us there are vultures and jackals. We're taking this matter back to a bigger body of NWC, so that they'll have to then assure our members that nothing like this can happen to them because constitutionally this is completely wrong," he said.
Dlamini says kaMagwaza-Msibi is recovering well and is confident she will rejoin the party's ranks soon.
