Newborn thrown from Verulam window to be moved to place of safety

The newborn baby boy who was thrown from the window of a building in Verulam, north of Durban will be moved to a place of safety once he has been discharged from hospital.
The baby fell 3m to the ground.
His 31-year-old mother's been charged with child abandonment and made her first appearance in court yesterday.
Police say an employee heard the baby's cries near a business premises on Saturday.
Health officials say the little boy is doing well.

Police say an employee heard the baby's cries near a business premises on Saturday.
"Police arrived at the scene and the baby was taken to hospital for treatment," said SAPS spokesperson Thulani Zwane.

The mother allegedly gave birth to the child and immediately threw him out of the window.Health officials say the little boy is doing well.
