New eThekwini and Msunduzi mayors to be announced on Thursday: ANC

An announcement on the new mayoral candidates for eThekwini and Msunduzi is expected on Thursday.
Last week, Zandile Gumede and Themba Njilo were relieved of their duties as mayors of the two municipalities.
The KwaZulu-Natal ANC said they were removed because of poor performance.
Mthembu says they are dealing with reports and finalising their options.

But it said Gumede and Njilo, along with all ANC members of executive councils of eThekwini and Msunduzi, would be redeployed.

ANC provincial spokesperson, Ricardo Mthembu says discussions about filling the vacancies and about other issues have not wrapped up yet.Mthembu says they are dealing with reports and finalising their options.
He says the party is not only discussing the eThekwini and Msunduzi mayors, but also issues affecting KwaDukuza, Newcastle, Mandeni and Ugu.
