Murder accused mom described as 'affectionate'
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
The brother of a Durban woman accused of killing her young son has described the 37-year-old as a fun-loving, affectionate mother.

This was in an affidavit handed up in the Durban Magistrate's Court this week during Megan Prins' bail hearing. Prins is said to have smothered her seven-year-old boy to death in an Umhlanga guesthouse in June.
She has been granted R3000 bail and is due back in court next month.
Prins' eyes welled as she listened to her lawyer read her brother, Adrian's, affidavit into the court record. Adrian recalled how his sister and nephew would spend Friday nights eating fast food and watching movies together.
He said she had loved her son unconditionally spoiling him with toys every month and regularly taking him out on excursions.
Adrian told of how he had watched his sister deteriorate emotionally, physically and psychologically in the remand centre at Westville Prison.
He said she could no longer bear to look at her own hands and would repeatedly say, "What was I thinking? I can't live without my baby".
