Motorists using N3 urged to exercise caution
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Transport authorities who manage the busy N3 route between Durban and Gauteng are urging motorists to be patient on the roads today.
The N3 Toll Concession expects between 1 500 and 2 000 vehicles per hour to pass through Mooi River when vehicle numbers reach their peak.
The concession’s Con Roux is calling on motorists to be careful and drive safely.
"Please be patient during peak traffic periods and keep a safe following distance. Also motorists should observe the basic driving rule of keeping left and passing right", he said.
"Another caution is there are road works between the route, particularly between Van Reenen's pass and Harrismith and Warden", Roux said.
"So in places the N3 is reduced to a single lane. In those areas please abide by the reduced speed limits", he said.
