All three victims died after being struck in Prospecton in the south of Durban on Saturday.

One of them was flung into the motorist's car due to the impact of the crash.

Police say the 23-year-old suspect handed himself over a few hours later and told them he drove to a local beach and out of fear, dumped the body that landed in his vehicle.

"The accused is charged with reckless and negligent driving, defeating the course of justice, three counts of culpable homicide and failing to compile with the duties of a driver after an accident.

"The matter was rolled over to tomorrow for a date when the bail application will be heard."
