Two South African women have both been sentenced to 18 years in prison for killing their children.
Last Wednesday, Lauren Dickason was jailed in New Zealand for the 2021 murder of her three young daughters, twins aged two as well as a six-year-old, just weeks after they emigrated there.
Experts testified that the former Pretoria doctor struggled to conceive and then suffered postpartum depression after the births of her children.

On Friday, a Ballito mum was sentence for the killing of her four-year-old daughter by drowning her in a bucket of water.
In her plea, she told the court she had suffered from depression for many years, which started with the postpartum depression she experienced when her first child was born.
Naicker says they welcome the sentence.
"Childline supports the sentence has it poses as a potential detergent. It sends out a strong message of the severity of such heinous acts and the need for accountability for protecting our children."
