More suspects arrested following brazen Phoenix robbery

Police have arrested three more suspects believed to have been part of a group that posed as officers during a robbery at a Phoenix home, north of Durban.

Earlier this month, six armed robbers ransacked a house in Forest Haven and assaulted the occupants.

 Another suspect was apprehended earlier.

 The police's Nqobile Gwala says one suspect was positively identified by one of the victims.

 “An investigation was conducted, and a 31-year-old suspect was arrested. Further investigations continued and a team went to Maphumulo where they arrested three more people,” said Gwala.

 Gwala says the arrested suspects are due to appear in court soon.

The search is still on for the two remaining suspects.

Meanwhile, police are appealing to communities to help them track down criminals donning fake police uniforms and badges.

Gwala says people who pose as officers must be reported.

She also says must resist the temptation to buy stolen goods.

"Please also report people who buy stolen goods."
