More delays in suspended KZN Commissioner's inquiry
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
A board of inquiry into suspended KZN Provincial Police Commissioner, Mmamonnye Ngobeni has again hit a snag.
Acting National Police Commissioner, Bonang Ngwenya made the announcement in Durban earlier.
Ngwenya says Ngobeni is taking her legal battle with the SAPS to the Constitutional Court.
She had been fielding questions from the press after outlining the work of new Hawks Head, General Godfrey Lebeya.
"We are looking into that from the South African Police Service. I must also emphasize that we view the importance of ensuring that the post of the KZN provincial commissioner has a permanent appointee. We take it very seriously and we hope that it will soon be resolved. There are legal processes that have to be respected," Ngwenya said.

Ngobeni has been in and out of court since 2016 - when she was first suspended following allegations of a corruption relationship with businssman, Thoshan Panday.
The Supreme Court of Appeal dismissed her challenge of the Minister of Police's power to establish a board of inquiry in March.
