More charges and more arrests possible in VBS case
Updated | By Jacaranda fm
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed that there is a possibility that more charges will be added to the indictment, while more accused could also face arrest in the case relating to the theft and looting of more than R2 billion at the now-bankrupt VBS Mutual Bank.

The case against the current seven individuals was this morning postponed in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercials Crime Court to 21 January 2021.
They face charges of theft, corruption, money laundering, and racketeering.

NPA spokesperson, Sipho Ngwema says the further postponement affords the state more time to finalise the amended indictment and add the additional accused.
“We are hoping that between now and January, those things would’ve taken place,” says Ngwema.
