More than 75 percent of KZN votes counted, ANC firmly in front

The ANC looks set to retain its majority in KwaZulu-Natal, as more results continue to pour in from across the province.
The ANC currently has over 53 percent of the provincial vote.
The party proclaimed immediately after the elections on Wednesday that it would not have to resort to coalition politics to retain power in KwaZulu-Natal.
At one point yesterday, the IFP had 20 percent of counted and processed ballots.
It has now decreased its share to 17.53 percent. The DA remains third on 14.13 percent.
The EFF has also increased its share of the vote to 9.17 percent.
The party proclaimed immediately after the elections on Wednesday that it would not have to resort to coalition politics to retain power in KwaZulu-Natal.
As things stand at the moment, with more three quarters of the provincial vote counted, this could be the likely result.

The gap between the IFP and the DA continues to close.At one point yesterday, the IFP had 20 percent of counted and processed ballots.
It has now decreased its share to 17.53 percent. The DA remains third on 14.13 percent.
The EFF has also increased its share of the vote to 9.17 percent.
The DA and EFF said yesterday that they both expected their performance to improve as the urban results come in.
On a national level, the ANC has a little over 57 percent, while the DA has 21 percent of the vote so far.
The EFF has increased its performance to over 10 percent.
