Minister to present Health Insurance Plan

Minister of Health, Aaron Motsoaledi is today expected to present to Cabinet the National Health Insurance Plan Programme.
Motsoaledi made the announcement at the Higher Education Aids Conference in Durban at the weekend.
He told youth at the time that he was worried they're only fighting for free education and not tackling health issues.

The minister says education and health are two sides of the same coin, saying that while screening schools for fiscal barriers - they found 500 000 pupils with either eyesight, hearing or speech problems.
"337 000 have got oral problems, 119 000 have eyesight problems, 89 000 have hearing problems and 8000 have speech problems. I'm going to tell Cabinet that the starting point is to start with school kids and provide them with the health needs," he said.
