Methane gas leak leaves six dead, 24 hospitalised

24 SANDF members have been admitted to St Augustine's Hospital in Durban after inhaling what's believed to be methane gas.
The gas leak occurred in in a sewer pit at the Navy Base at the Durban harbour earlier.
The SANDF members have filled the trauma unit at the hospital in Durban.

Hospital members and SANDF members are remaining mum on how the soldiers are doing. It's believed the they're being treated for inhalation injuries.
The SANDF confirmed earlier that six people - including three SANDF members and three contractors from the Department of Public Works - were killed following the gas leak.
3 SANDF members and 3 Department of Public Work members died during the leak earlier on at a Naval Base close to the harbour.
