Medical expert says support structures are important for cancer patients
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
A medical therapist says it's important that cancer fighters understand they are never alone in their journey to full recovery.
Donnee Ness was speaking during a discussion forum at an event in Umhlanga in Durban yesterday, which was attended by hundreds of women from different walks of life.

Some cancer survivors shared their personal accounts of having to deal with living with the disease.
Ness has emphasised the importance of a reliable support structure - saying often the journey to good health is frightening and filled with confusion for those diagnosed with breast cancer.
"Hunt, until you find the right support people to surround you at that time of diagnosis. Don't necessarily settle for something that doesn't feel right... People who tend to traverse it better are people who are supported - have support groups, supportive families, supportive church groups," she said.
