McCain recalls frozen green beans, Spar-branded French stir fry
Updated | By Eva Chipa
McCain South Africa has announced a voluntary product recall involving some of its food products.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the food brand said the recall is due to reports of foreign material detected in specific bags of frozen sliced green beans and stir fry.
“We have ascertained the source of the material, confirming it to be small glass fragments originating from a light fitting that has affected a limited batch of products only,” reads the statement.
Affected packages include frozen green beans, and Spar-branded French stir fry.
McCain Foods South Africa is currently in the process of conducting a voluntary public product recall, which may affect some customers.
