Mbeki: ANC must practice what it preaches
Updated | By Emile Pienaar
Former president Thabo Mbeki had a final word of advice to the ANC while casting his vote on Wednesday.

Mbeki made his mark on the ballot at the Killarney Country Club in Johannesburg.
He was seen wearing a mask after being hospitalised for flu earlier.
"The only thing I would really like to say is that all of us who have registered, we vote. I think it is very important that all of us should come out and vote,” Mbeki told the media.

"It is very important, really, given the state of the nation, it is important that the country should participate in terms of determining its future".
As the ANC grapples with the declining public trust, Mbeki said the party needs to match its words with actions.
"I think it is also important that the ANC must do what it says about itself. The ANC has been saying it must renew itself, so the ANC must do that. It is important because it has got an important role to play in terms of the future of the country.”
