Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Democratic Alliance leader in KwaZulu-Natal Francois Rodgers has thanked Mbali Ntuli for the role she played in building the party in the province.
Ntuli confirmed this morning that she's quit the party and stepped down as a member of the provincial legislature.
Ntuli, who competed for the party leadership in 2020, issued a statement on Thursday to say she's walking away after 15 years with the party.

Rodgers says he was informed of her resignation on Wednesday.
"It's quite clear that Mbali has started a family, she's got personal commitments and that she just feels that she needs to start a new chapter in her life.
"She's contributed towards the DA and building the DA brand in various roles, which we thank and respect her for and we wish her well in her new role as a mother and as an activist."
