Massive fuel price hike set to kick in at midnight
The fuel price adjustments kick in at midnight on Tuesday, but South Africans are still waiting for the Department of Minerals Resources and Energy to announce the exact price they will be paying at the pumps.
Indications are that the cost of petrol could go up by between R2.27 to R2.37 a litre - which see a litre hitting a high of R25.
As the record increase looms, a lobby group in KZN's fuming.
The People Against Petrol and Paraffin Increases' Visvin Reddy says motorists are fuming over the pending increase.
"This is shocking and every person out there who knows of the increase is fuming at the decision by the government to impose these increases on motorists and this impact it will have on all South Africans."
He has called on the government to make urgent interventions to help ease the financial pain on motorists and households.

"I believe the government has not explored the various options that it has available to it. The first option is to extend the rebate on the fuel levy which they've done for the past three months which has seen a reprieve of some R1.50 per litre and we believe the government can extend it by another three months.
"Secondly the issue of fuel tax and levys should be removed completely and alternative sources of funding should be found."
