Mass power outages in weather-torn KZN
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Eskom KwaZulu-Natal says it's experiencing widespread power outages as severe weather continues to wreak havoc on the province.

The power producer says crews are working to restore electricity, but blocked roads and hazardous conditions have delayed access to several areas.
The utility says heavy rainfall, strong winds, and snowfall overnight have damaged infrastructure and left towns and rural communities across the province without power.
Disruptions have occurred in Empangeni, Melmoth, Mtubatuba, Ulundi, Hluhluwe, Jozini, and Nongoma in the north.
While in the south, Kokstad, Umzimkhulu, Harding, and Ixopo are among the worst affected.

Eskom says it has deployed technical teams to assess and start repairs where it's safe to do so, but many roads remain inaccessible due to flooding and snow.
Residents have been urged to remain patient and to treat all electrical infrastructure as live and dangerous.
One of the three weather warnings issued for KZN has been upgraded.
A Level 4 alert for disruptive rainfall is now in place for the province's extreme southern parts.
Forecasters have warned of possible flooding and difficult driving conditions on Tuesday.
A double Level 4 and 5 warning is still active for damaging winds in the central, northern interior, and southern parts.
