Man killed in Chatsworth bank collapse

A man has been killed after a bank collapsed on a construction worker in Chatsworth, south of Durban.
Emergency services say the man had been working in a residential area near the corner of Westcliff Drive and Presley Avenue when the incident occurred.

Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says firefighters were already at the scene by the time medics arrived."They found a man stuck beneath the sand. He was assessed and found to have no signs of life," said Jamieson.
"He was declared dead at the scene."
Events leading up to the collapse are still unknown at this stage.

The SAPS Search and Rescue Unit, Durban Fire and Metro Police all attended the scene.Jamieson says no one else was hurt.
