Man arrested for Umkomaas murder

Police have arrested a suspect believed to be involved in the murder of a man in Umkomaas, on the south coast.
The 36-year-old victim was last seen Friday afternoon in the Newhaven area.
His body was later found with severe assault injuries in a dense bush.
Provincial police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says the suspect has made a first appearance in court.

"A case of murder was opened at Umkomaas SAPS. A 40-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with murder.
"He appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court this morning [Thursday] and the matter was remanded to the 8th of July."
