Madadeni rapist sentenced to life imprisonment
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
A 42 year-old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment and an additional 20 years, by the Madadeni High Court, for rape crimes committed between 2005 and 2009.
The court found that Thamsanqa Dlamini had forced himself onto three victims aged between 17 and 27 on separate occasions. The first incident took place in May 2005 when Dlamini raped a 17 year-old girl - for which he received a 10 year sentence.
Later that year, in September, he went on to his next victim - a 20 year-old woman whom he threatened with a knife.
He also received 10 years behind bars for that incident. His latest attack took place in 2009 when a 27 year-old woman became his latest victim when he raped her at gunpoint.
The court sentenced him to life in prison for that incident. His sentences are expected to run concurrently.
