The Freedom Movement, opposition parties, civil society and religious leaders continued with their call for President Jacob Zuma to step down from office during Freedom Day celebrations.
They held a rally in Pretoria. DA leader Mmusi Maimane says South Africans should continue voicing their concerns about President Jacob Zuma's leadership.
Former President Nelson Mandela's eldest granddaughter, Ndileka Mandela says she wants government to listen to its people and do the right thing.
"People have the right to call their government to account. We are today calling on our government to account. When the motion is passed in Parliament, we want our leaders, elected in our communities, do the right thing and take our country forward," she said.
The UDM's Bantu Holomisa says civil society is the conscience of a nation and must play its role.
Meanwhile, President Zuma slammed events in Pretoria calling for him to step down. The president delivered the main speech at the official Freedom Day event in northern KZN yesterday.
