LISTEN: Boswell confirms six tigers put down, not one
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
It has been confirmed that five more tigers who escaped from the Natal Zoological Gardens and Lion Park were put down two weeks ago.
Only one tiger was initially reported to have escaped from the park near Pietermaritzburg two weeks ago and was shot for safety reasons.
Brian Boswell has told Newswatch the first five tigers were found between his neighbour and his own property, and by 6am that morning they had put all of them down.
Boswell previously denied allegations that five other tigers were put down as initially reported.
Boswell says the tigers were shot around the farm for safety reasons as other animals and people were on the property.
He says the killings are two different incidents.
