LISTEN: AA expects petrol price to drop in February

Motorists can expect some relief at the pumps next month.

This is according to the Automobile Association which is predicting decreases in the cost of fuel.


It says 95 octane petrol will drop by around 13 cents a litre, while 93 octane - as well both grades of diesel - will decrease by four cents a litre.


Paraffin will cost three cents less.


The AA's Layton Beard says it's largely thanks to ongoing declines in the price of oil since the second week of the year.


But, he says while oil has dipped to its lowest level since the start of December - the Rand/US dollar exchange rate is steadily moving in the opposite direction.
