His passing has been confirmed by his ruling party in the province as well by his department and KZN Premier.

In a statement Premier Sihle Zikalala has expressed shock at the news of Ntuli's passing which took place yesterday afternoon at a Durban hospital at the age of 63.

The Premier describes Ntuli as a soldier who died with his boots on and someone who contributed immensely reversing the tide of Gender-Based Violence, Taxi Violence, and reducing the carnage on the province’s roads.

ANC KZN spokesperson Nhlakanipho Ntombela says Ntuli had initially gone into hospital but was discharged only for his condition to suddenly worsen - prompting a speedy return to the hospital where he passed on.

"It was indeed unexpected, we thought he was getting better. He was in hospital and came out and some reason he got worse. He had to be taken back where he passed on.

"So we are still in shock. Right now we must think of his family and give them time and space and pray with them," says Ntombela.
