KZN storms claim six lives
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Six people have died as a result of the storms experienced in parts of KwaZulu-Natal since Friday.
The Cooperative Government's Lennox Mabaso says two incidents were reported to their disaster management teams.
"We received a report that a lightning strike killed two people in the area of Mzumbe. Prior to that, we had an incident that took place in Msinga where houses collapsed and lightening incidents where four people passed away," Mabaso said.
The weather service says the heavy rainfall is expected to continue today in some parts. Mabaso says their teams remain on standby.
"We are asking people not to be reckless and negligent in whatever they are engaged in and to be extra cautious not to attempt crossing low-lying bridges," Mabaso said.
