KZN special needs surfing event a success

Organisers say KZN's first surfing competition for special needs kids has been a big success.

Seven young surfers competed a the Special Need’s Surf Competition at the weekend at Addington beach. 

Founder, Wes Smith whose son attends the Open Air School was inspired to host host a sports event that would cater for children with physical disabilities.

Smith has thanked supporters of the event, saying the quality and talent shown was very promising. 

Former junior Springbok rugby player, Dries Millard was in attendance.

The sportsman was paralysed after a tragic car accident and known for his efforts towards integrating sports and disablilites.
