KZN social workers sent to assist mother of murdered siblings

Social workers have been dispatched to the Esikhaleni area on the north coast following the double murder of two siblings -- allegedly at the hands of their father.

The suspect is due to appear in court again on Monday.

The children's bodies were found hanged in a bedroom and bathroom at the weekend.

It is understood their parents had an argument before the mother left home to attend a National Women's Day event.

Social Development's Mhlabunzima Memela says the mother has been left severely traumatised.

Memela says social workers have been sent to counsel her.

"The incident shows that there is a moral decay in our society," he said.

"You should never suffer at the hands of someone who says the love you."

MEC Nonhlanhla Khoza attended the funeral today.
