Police say the children got into difficulty in the waters of Msweli Dam.
The NSRI's Craig Lambinon says they were called to assist police divers late in the afternoon.
"During that search, they recovered the bodies of four children - aged between five and thirteen. They are all local children. Their bodies were recovered and taken into the care of the forensic pathology services. Police have opened an inquest docket," he says.
