Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KwaZulu-Natal's Education officials are pleading with a school girl who was filmed being assaulted by a fellow pupil to come forward and speak to authorities.
Video footage posted online shows the girl being punched and kicked by a boy.
The department's Muzi Mahlambi says such incidents must be reported.
He's also appealed to the parents of the girl and the perpetrators to come forward.
"To the parents, If this is your child please come forward. If this is your child that is the perpetrator in the video, please come forward. We are also going to involve police in this matter," he said.
