A woman has died following a collision on the N2 near the uMdloti off-ramp, north of Durban.
IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst said she was travelling with her husband and their two-year-old child when their car broke down in the middle lane.
He says another vehicle crashed into their stationary car.

"While they were getting out the vehicle the mom was carrying the baby, a vehicle from behind rear-ended their broken-down vehicle and collided with the family members."
"The child was ejected from the mother's arms 20 metres away. The mom, unfortunately, sustained fatal injuries," said Herbst
The dad escaped with no injuries and the child was placed on a ventilator and taken to hospital.
